Scala Developer for AutoTrack

Amsterdam – For AutoTrack, part of DPG Media, we are looking for a Scala Developer. 

On the AutoTrack platform, we list thousands of dealers and hundreds of thousands of cars. All with the single purpose of helping a million people every month to make one of the most difficult life decisions. To help us handle the high amount of visitors and data generated by them we are looking for a backend developer to join the development team of AutoTrack.

Our product team is from all over the world, so you need to be comfortable communicating in English both written and verbally. You will work with a technology team in the transition between working top-down to a self-steering approach. What you’ll do
We are currently replacing parts of our main application with microservices while we keep serving over 12 million page views a month. You will help us by figuring out how we can continue to deliver value while replacing parts of our applications.
  • Adding new functionalities to the website, by building microservices;
  • Test driven development (TDD);
  • CI/CD;
  • Continuous improvement, and keep track of issues;
  • It’s an advantage if you are able to help with the microservice architecture.

Who you are

For this role, we are looking for a backend developer who has experience building software for high traffic websites in a team setting. Currently, we work with technologies like:

Scala, Java, Play, Axon, SQS, Javascript, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, MongoDB

You should be comfortable working with Scala or another JVM based language, also we prefer candidates who have production experience with applying multiple backend programming languages in a high traffic setting.
