Amsterdam – For Automotive Mediaventions, Part of DPG Media, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer.

On our Automotive websites, we list thousands of dealers and hundreds of thousands of cars. All with the single purpose of helping a million people every month to make one of the most difficult decisions of their life. 

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for migrating our brands from (self) hosted solutions to a managed environment in EKS. 

You will work with a technology team in transition between working top-down to a self-steering approach. What you’ll do

  • Design and deliver cloud infrastructure on AWS;
  • Specify (code) environments using Infrastructure as Code techniques;
  • Optimize cloud assets to provide cost effective, scalable, modern and secure infrastructure;
  • Work together with developers to optimize their environments and processes;
  • Maintaining a robust and highly-performant CI/CD pipeline;
  • Implement complex functional monitoring as well as technical / systems monitoring;
  • Automating as much as possible of the day-to-day operations and deployments;
  • Continuous improvement of the capacity, availability, performance and security of our cloud environments;
  • Introduce ideas and methods to increase observability throughout the platforms;
  • Providing documentation for transparency and auditing;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and produce long-term fixes;
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule;
  • Minimize the possibility for anyone to be called while on-call.

 Who you are

We’re looking for a self-starter and has an own opinion on architectural alternatives. You will work closely with our senior DevOps Engineer therefore we are looking for someone who is close to his experience level and shares his interests and ambitions.

Proven experience in one or more of the following:

  • Strong Linux and networking skills;
  • Docker;
  • Kubernetes;
  • Helm;
  • CI/CD Tooling;
  • Terraform or similar;
  • JVM environments;
  • Elasticsearch;
  • Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and verbally.
